IGI .Industrial and General Insurance Job TitleHEAD OF TECHNICAL DIVISION Department-LIFE AND PENSION Status-Parmanent Overall purpose-HEAD, TECHNICAL DIVISION Job description / Responsibilities Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate who will form part of the top management team will be responsible for:Formulating short and long term underwriting and reinsurance strategiesEnsuring general administration and supervision of the technical division of the companyEnsuring that the relevant records and registers of underwriting are kept and maintained alwaysEnsuring profitable underwriting and re-insurance portfolios with appropriate pricing and sound underwritingDeveloping products and services strategies for maximizing business opportunitiesEnsuring that appropriate returns are made to the relevant regulatory authoritiesReport to Managing Director Knowledge / Skills A Bsc. Degree (2nd Class lower) or HND (upper credit) or its equivalent, in insurance/actuarial science or any of the social or management sciencesProfessional qualification such as ACII, FCII is a must A minimum of 20 years cognate experience, ten of which must be at management level of an insurance company or insurance broking outfitSkills in business negotiation and ability to interface or relate with decision makers in corporate organisations and government and other institutions for business.
