Depot Manager-Oil & Gas Company
Depot Manager Department: Operations Reports to: GM - OperationsGrade: Manager JOB PURPOSE: (the overall objective of the job and the basic reason for its existence)The Depot Manager is responsible for managing all operations in the depot.The effective performance of this role will ensure that the up and productive time of the company depot assets and facilities are optimized, for efficient safe and effective delivery of products to our customers’, and thereby contributing to the overall success of the organization. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (the principal results expected from the job)
Monitor vessel discharge activities to or from the depot to ensure that all precautions are followed. Monitor vessel discharge or loading to or from the depot to ensure that the correct volume is discharged or loaded. Ensure that truck loading operations and all other depot activities are conducted with adherence to safety and other applicable regulations. Administrate activities of Operative and Fire safety Units, Lab and Maintenance Dept. Oversee daily monitoring of stock in the storage tanks, document, and circulate reports as required.
Provide periodic reports to make recommendations to management on required upgrades and modifications in the department as necessary. Develop operation and safety policies and procedures for the department and ensure compliance at all times. Participate in technical and operations analyses, audits and inspections, and ensure the implementation of remedial action plans Contributes to improving skills, expertise and feedback DIMENSIONS: (the major assets that are directly controlled or indirectly influenced by the job holder, other key statistics relating to the job)· Staff – Direct reports 5; indirect reports 39· Assets – Tanks 10; Loading Gantry-18· Volumes - 6,000 m3 – 12,000 m3 CHALLENGES: (key challenges associated with the job)
· Zero accident and incident environment · Avoiding products contamination · Barest minimum product losses · Actively promote an HSSE culture in the depotCOMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:· University First degree/HND/a higher degree/professional qualification in Engineering or any equivalent combination of education and experience that could produce the same competences· 10-years experience in depot operations in similar function in the Oil & Gas Industry or any equivalent combination of education and experience that could produce the same competences· Good problem solving skills.· Astute leadership, judgment and decision making abilities.· Strong oral and written communication skills. · Excellent planning and organisational skills.· Computer skills and literacy. · Safety experience in handling petroleum products.
